I went to school in Cambodia. The schools in my country are different from the school in the U.S. Because the school in my country doesn't provide food for students free. Students can buy food around the school campus or out side the school campus. In my country doesn't have sport class, music class, art class or computer class. We study English only four hours a week. In my country, the students in high school go to study 2 shifts a day. First shift we start from 7:00am to 11:am and we start class again at 2:00pm to 4:00pm. We study 5 subjects a day and one subject we study one hour.
I arrived in the United State on July,14th 2014.
When I live in Cambodia I think the U.S would be like the paradise and all the people that live in the U.S they are so happy, has a lot of money. However, when I have been living here for a few months I knew that my thought is wrong. Because in the U.S is not really like the paradise if we don't work we don't have everything, no money to buy food, no money to pay bill. We aren't happy everyday if we are poor. The U.S can be the paradise for the people that has a lot of money.
The first day that I go to school I am very afraid because I don't speak English. I don't have friends and I don't know all the people in school. I don't know what should I do when I hungry and what should I do when I stay in class with the people that they from other country. The first day in school I don't know everything.
The teacher in the U.S different from the teacher in my country. Because the teacher in the U.S they are speak only English but the teacher in Cambodia speak Khmer language. The teacher in the U.S always make me happy and fun. Example Mrs.Bhavnani who teach English language always make me happy and have fun. When I study with her first day I don't like her because she speak to loud, not simple loud but very very loud I am so afraid of her. If you don't believe me you can ask every student who study with her. But when I study with Mrs.Bhavnani long time my felling is change Mrs.Bhavnani she talk to much, she speak to loud but it is good for me because I can speak English to much and I can speak English too loud the same her. Moreover, I have two art teachers who always help me. One is Mrs.Mcdalno who is my art teacher in Furness High School. Another one is Mrs.Shira Walinsky who teach me to make the paint on the wall every Friday at 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm after school at Buildon. Now I love the teacher in the U.S so much.
My parents they are so happy when I can live and study in the U.S and they said "Layhout now you live in the U.S, you live in the new place so you should try to study and to be a good person for your family in the new place".
My life is better here in the U.S, I can speak English better, I not afraid school, I'm not afraid the people in school, I can go to other place alone by my self, I'm not afraid.
I have some stories about when I come to the United State I will remember this story forever, when I come to the U.S I come alone and I no speak English too. I'm very afraid, I don't know what should I do in the plane.
I think that only study hard and be a good person that can help my life better in here. That why I try to study so hard.
My fell about my country and the U.S have a lot of different and mean food, place, house, work, school, pay money for something.
The person that set left behind me are My To, Han vong and Subash Rai they are my best friends I love them so much My, Han and Subash they are talk to much in the class they are not talk to much simple they are very very talk to much Mrs.Bhavnani she know too and I talk with them everyday, I'm very happy when I have My, Han and Subash to be my best friends.
I don't feel safe in my first country because in my country the government they doesn't worry a bout the people. Sometime government kill good people. Moreover, the rich people always right and the poor people always wrong. There are no right, no freedom for poor people.
I feel safe in the U.S. Because the government always worry about people. They always help poor people and take care there people very well.
I think freedom in the U.S mean when we was 18 year old we can do everything by our self mean we can drive the car, we can do everything when we smart, we are strong.
The weather in the U.S are different the weather in my country. The weather in the U.S is very cold on winter. For me I like snow but I don't like cold. Since I live in the U.S for 6 months I got sick for 4 times. I like summer than winter because on summer is so beautiful. The plants are growing and green. It's very beautiful I want summer coming soon.
I want to tell you about " My dream" I like this word so much. For me I have a lot of dream but my beautiful dream is I want to be a good person in my family heart and all the people around myself and I want to make them happy happy everyday with me. I want to be an art teacher because I want to express my idea to all the people that they love art the same me. One more dream, I want to open art store. I want to open this store by myself and I want to put the name of my store "Cambodia Beautiful Picture". There are all my dream and in the future I don't know to whether my dream can become true or not, but I will try try and try.
Finally, I have two important information that I want to share to all of you who love and interesting in art. First information, There is one program call "Teen Mural Class Gain art skills Community Service" the activity in this program is panting on the wall. Why we need to join? Because we will learn how to express our idea, learn to work as a group, improve painting skill and help our environment look beautiful. If you interesting meet every Friday in room 7 after school. Everyone can join. The last information is that we do have art class on Saturday at 8am to 12am which is currently close for 2 months and we start class again at February, 21st 2015. There are only 3 students study in that class. That poor art class will close soon if nobody come to study. So pleases come to study all together to help that class alive.
